Good to know before a MacBook repair
- Back up first with Time Machine or iCloud if your MacBook still turns on.
- Soldered storage: on many newer MacBooks, data lives on chips soldered to the board, so a board fault can affect your files. We’ll explain this before any board work.
- Security chips: Apple’s T2 chip and Apple Silicon link Touch ID and storage to the board. Some parts can’t simply be swapped, and we’ll tell you upfront what’s possible.
- Find My: leave it on unless we ask; you can stay signed in to your Apple ID.

How much does MacBook repair cost?
It depends on the model and the fault. We diagnose for free and give you a fixed quote, and you only pay if you approve the repair.
Will I lose my data?
Screen, battery and keyboard repairs don’t touch your files. Logic board work can, because many MacBooks store data on the board itself. We’ll explain the risk before starting. Back up if you can.
My MacBook won’t turn on. Is it the battery?
Sometimes, but it can also be the charger, the charging port or the logic board. Our free diagnosis finds which one, so you don’t pay for parts you don’t need.
